Ziskor Shaman: Vemeryl by Lanaluu Ziskor Shaman: Vemeryl by Lanaluu
oii... it's really early but I didn't feel like drawing so I did up Vemeryl's app a bit. I still gotta work on his history and I might give a companion(I have an idea... just have to draw it out sometime), but I figured I'd just get it uploaded for now. vndfkbd I'm not going to shade it... I have to work on things for Christmas (I know so early. /slow at art) Anyway, I'm not here on DA much AT ALL... I'll mostly be uploading applications and maybe some completed works here and there but I've become quite detached from this website... so if RP stuff isn't your thing I apologize. ; v ; )/ MORE TO COME! I still got to add a lot more to Ziskor as well!

Name: Vemeryl (Vel-merle) Hy'Yorn
Age: 34
Race: Byyst (50% owl, 50% white tailed deer)
Tribe: Ziskor
Occupation: Shaman
Ancestry: Family stems from the Ziskor and Codundi tribes.
Alliance: Neutral
Personality: --will detail this later--
Companion: Bynku the Yyumisnar

Ziskor contestants for Shaman is traditionally chosen by a council of 6 notable scholars and the spirit, Xyyl in the Ziskor tribe. After 60 years or if the Shaman expired,  young adults are subject to intense intellectual training in honor of the spirit of knowledge and to decide who will become the next Shaman in charge. Each individual will travel the entire region of Yoryyn and one country in the Guarmi region to gain new helpful intellect, physical and mental strength, and upon return to Ziskor the counsel and Xyyl determine who will be the next Shaman.

Velmeryl’s father was known in the village as being a very strict man who travelled across the plains commonly for a delivery service that went all the way to Morzenan. He met a beautiful feathered woman in Codundi whom which he fell in love with and from there had two sons after returning to Ziskor with the woman, Velmeryl and Yasimar.

Unlike the father of the two brothers the mother was gentle, caring and very intelligent. She stayed at home during their youth and read stories both of her imagination and traditional stories by both Ziskor and Codundi writers. Velmeryl always felt close to his mother whereas Yasimar was close with his father.

The shaman passed suddenly due to a cause unknown to the general public and it was time to look for a new shaman. After a large dispute over enrolling the two young boys in the competition the mother was forced to leave, leaving her two sons behind. Intense physical and mental training took place after the incident though Velderyl was distraught and often fell behind. A couple months passed and it was time for the counsel to select the contestants, only 12 were chosen 2 of which were the two brothers.

Sibling rivalry grew between the two, though it existed prior it was more prominent now. They parted ways to begin their travels and haven’t seen each other for a month till both meeting up again on a ship which sailed to Mana’Ri. Although Yasimar was large and stronger than his younger brother, he wasn’t smarter and didn’t have the gentle personality his brother had. During the night as the ship sailed across the water a fight broke out among the two which resulted in Velmeryl being pushed into the rough waters to die.

Velmeryl managed to survive the rough waves, catching a passing fishing boat just a couple hours later. He returned to Alishiani, quite defeated though finished his travels using a different path to avoid confrontation with his elder brother again.

Upon first returning to Ziskor he first went to Arnestokk, and conversed with an unlikely individual, Xyyl for the first time. Velmeryl was the last of the few to return, some having thought he’d passed or given up and stayed in another village. Velmeryl presented his findings and new found skills to the counsel and spirit and in the end, to his brother’s dismay, was chosen as the new shaman for his hard work, determination, medical and technological findings.

Now, Velmeryl is often secluded in his work. Unlike their sociable spirit he was more independant, enjoying his reading alone. He organized festivities and brought new housing technology to Ziskor for sturdier homes and a new elevator system which proved very helpful especially for the elders. Though reserved and quiet he isn’t fearful of public speaking or getting rough when the situation calls for it.
